Localised contour
May improve the outline of selected areas when localised fat is addressed as part of the treatment plan.
Radiofrequency-assisted contouring
BodyTite uses radiofrequency energy beneath the skin for body contouring and tissue tightening. It involves small incisions and anaesthesia, may accompany liposuction, and requires time for recovery.
Individual results vary. Read the risks and suitability information before considering treatment.

About the treatment
BodyTite is a radiofrequency-assisted body contouring procedure. An internal probe and external electrode deliver heat to tissue beneath the skin, with the aim of improving tissue contraction and contour. It may be considered for selected adults with localised fat and skin laxity. It is not a treatment for obesity or a method of weight loss.
The technology
The internal probe passes through a small incision into the tissue beneath the skin. A paired external electrode remains on the surface. Radiofrequency energy heats the tissue between them, supporting tissue contraction and subsequent collagen remodelling. When combined with liposuction, a cannula is used to remove fat as part of the agreed treatment plan. Monitoring systems guide energy delivery but cannot prevent every thermal injury or other complication.
Potential outcomes
Potential benefits must be weighed against the risks, recovery and alternatives. Not everyone will experience an improvement.
May improve the outline of selected areas when localised fat is addressed as part of the treatment plan.
May improve some skin laxity through contraction and remodelling of tissue beneath the skin.
The areas and extent of treatment can be planned around individual anatomy, skin quality and goals.
Individual assessment
The following areas may be considered after assessment. Not every area is appropriate for every person, device configuration or treatment plan.

Planning your care
Step 01
Discuss your medical history, goals, previous procedures and alternatives, including no treatment. The treating practitioner should explain their registration, experience, the proposed setting, likely costs, risks and recovery. Take time to consider the information before deciding.
Step 02
The treatment areas and incision sites are planned. The anaesthetic approach is agreed in advance and depends on the extent of treatment and your health. Follow the instructions about medicines, smoking, fasting where required, and arranging support afterwards. Do not stop prescribed medicines without medical advice.
Step 03
Following preparation and anaesthesia, the practitioner introduces the probe through small incisions and applies radiofrequency energy across the planned area. Liposuction may also be performed if it is part of the consented plan. Treatment duration depends on the number and size of areas and any additional procedures.
Step 04
Before discharge, you should receive written aftercare, activity restrictions, follow-up arrangements and a contact for concerns. If sedation or general anaesthesia is used, arrange transport and appropriate adult support as advised.
After your procedure
Bruising, swelling, soreness and altered sensation are expected possibilities after treatment. Recovery depends on the area treated, the extent of liposuction and your health. Plan for time away from work and restrictions on strenuous exercise; some swelling or firmness can persist for weeks or longer. A compression garment may be prescribed. Follow your individual wound-care and activity instructions and attend follow-up appointments. Contour changes are assessed over several months rather than immediately after treatment.
Recovery may be longer if complications occur. Seek prompt medical advice for increasing pain, redness, fever, wound discharge, blistering or unexpected changes. Severe symptoms, including chest pain or difficulty breathing, need urgent medical attention.
Informed decisions
Swelling, bruising, discomfort, temporary numbness and firmness may occur. Complications include burns, infection, bleeding or haematoma, fluid collections, scarring, pigment changes, delayed healing, nerve injury, skin or fat damage and contour irregularities. Some complications can be lasting or require further treatment or surgery.
Liposuction and anaesthesia can introduce additional risks, including fluid imbalance, blood clots and, rarely, serious embolic or anaesthetic complications. The extent of treatment, medical history and treatment setting influence risk and must be assessed before proceeding.
Results may be uneven, less noticeable than expected or unsatisfactory. This is not an exhaustive list of risks; your practitioner must discuss those relevant to your proposed procedure.
Assessment considers your anatomy, skin quality, general health, weight stability, expectations and capacity to follow aftercare. Treatment may be unsuitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active infection, or where medical conditions affect healing or increase procedural risk.
Tell the practitioner about implanted electronic devices, bleeding or clotting disorders, previous surgery, scarring problems, smoking or nicotine use, and all medicines and supplements. A device implant or medical history may require specialist advice or rule out treatment.
A consultation does not commit you to a procedure. Ask about alternatives and take time to decide whether any treatment is right for you.
Your questions
No. It is intended for selected contour concerns rather than weight loss or obesity treatment. A stable weight and realistic expectations are important when assessing suitability.
The plan varies. BodyTite delivers radiofrequency energy beneath the skin, and liposuction may be used to remove fat. Ask your practitioner exactly what is proposed, including any additional procedures and their separate risks.
No. An abdominoplasty can remove excess skin and may address abdominal muscle separation. BodyTite has different capabilities and may be inappropriate where substantial loose skin or muscle separation is the main concern.
There is no single recovery timetable. Your practitioner should give written advice about work, driving, compression garments and exercise based on the areas treated, anaesthesia and any liposuction. Swelling can last longer than the initial period away from usual activities.
The degree and duration of change vary, and further treatment may be needed. Weight changes, pregnancy, ageing and skin quality can alter the outcome. No specific result or duration can be promised.
